These kids now have the opportunity to communicate, to learn language, and to learn the kinds of concepts that other children are learning.

We're able to capture them at that early stage and to provide them with a way to develop language as typically developing kids do. They're actually learning words faster than we would see with typical kids.

Kids learn and communicate through speech by trying out new words and forming sentences. If they can't do that due to problems such as autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy, then it is going to be difficult to learn how to read and write, make friends, and communicate their needs.

The design of many of these systems is really based on how adults think, and the machines are complicated and children take years learning how to use them.

Our kids did everything we asked of them, but we couldn't get that ball to go in the basket.

This is an incredible opportunity for Rachel to explore another aspect of volleyball. She has natural size which is such a benefit. I have no doubt that if Rachel decides to make this a priority, she could be successful in the beach game.
