These Marines are serving their country. They have had a tremendous loss. Every time a homecoming happens it is significant and special, but with these guys having the vice president coming makes it all the more exciting.

The fact is, these Marines have probably prevented another war with the mission they've accomplished.

On that show, I did country and some rock, too, whatever record I had out at the time, I'd sing that.

As our soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines defend the nation, ... they must know that their country will never abandon them, that we will spare no effort to bring them home. This is our sacred trust we owe to those who serve.

This is Georgia's loss, but it is really a loss for the entire country. Paul Coverdell was a good friend, a fine leader and a great senator for the people of Georgia. He dedicated his work in the Senate and his entire life to making the world a better place for other people.

The primary purpose of the league is to support the U.S. Marine Corps and the families of Marines who are serving. With a large group of Marines in harm's way, we have been called on to take a more active role in the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program and other community projects.
