They came here for the American dream, for their children.

They drove through rain and snow and slides and everything to be here. And we were trying to get them to take at least one day off. If only we could got them to take Sundays off.

This is perhaps the first generation of minorities that have a full and equal shot at the American Dream. Certainly more black Americans have gone into the middle class over the last 20 years than in any other 20 year period.
