They don't see the community service and the philanthropy work because those are organizations going out and doing that separately, so other people aren't going to see that.

We feel that, by getting more individuals and organizations involved in philanthropy, we can have an even greater impact and bring even more positive change to Kansas City. We start by asking our donors, 'What's important to you?' and then work to connect them to nonprofit organizations and charitable causes they care about.

[Danielle] represents the new generation of philanthropy in our city. She's young; she's educated; she's very active in the community; and she's passionate and innovative.

The postal service is part of the community. We are not just providing a service. We live and work among the community.

We're all really community service officers. COPS are part of that. Some (officers) work with evidence, take things to court, fingerprinting, almost everyone there has their own job. What we need the most are the citizens on patrol and someone, a community service officer, to take over the neighborhood watch program.

Lou was a great person to work with. His service was a real benefit to the community.
