They violated really a whole myriad of rules, really.

When things are heading south, it's not abnormal to resign.

There clearly was a potential for conflict.

Those are the rules. I'm not going to cause friction, go out and get all [ticked] off about it. The people that made that rule are the ones that sign my checks.

Sometimes you have to do things in our work that don't, um, comply with the rules.

It's hard because officially, by UIL rules, you cannot schedule games or sign contracts (until the realignment is announced). All you can do is talk to people and tentatively say, 'If this happens we'll play each other.' Right now everybody's just out there talking to everybody else.
