My dad always played old records. I loved the sound and at a dance I saw the band come down and circle up. I said I'd buy my own set to play a tune.

Why should the rest of the people of Northern Ireland be held hostage by the IRA? Why should we not be allowed to proceed with the democratic process?

A lot of guys said he was off the wall, he's crazy. I found him to be a guy with a lot of energy. He played the game hard. He just wanted to go out and play. Sometimes his emotion got in the way. He would lose control and tear things. I talked to him and reasoned with him. I listened to him. We developed a fondness for each other. I admire him for the way he goes about his work.

I always went to Ireland as a child. I remember trips to Dundalk, Wexford, Cork and Dublin. My gran was born in Dublin, and we had a lot of Irish friends, so we'd stay on their farms and go fishing. They were fantastic holidays - being outdoors all day and coming home to a really warm welcome in the evenings.

I've bought a red sweater and I'm going to go in there and cheer like crazy for the Trojans, ... I'm going to go to Chicago, go to the rally, watch the USC band at the rally and soak in all of it.
