They were courageous to vote the way they did. They did in fact cast a vote that is contrary to the opinion of a large number of voters in their party.

It tends to happen more often in the heavily populated areas because that's where the parties tend to be more active. It's no longer unusual.

He needs to reconnect with soft Democrats and independent voters, keep the rhetoric and the jokes down, and come up with some good ideas,
