This CBA deal has put things a little bit out of whack as far as renegotiating with guys.

We were very tempted. A lot of the guys we had up there gone before we were able to pick them. When you get into that third and fourth round, there were some really good players who fly off that board.

Something is out of whack. He feels a little bit strange, so we're going to check it out. After all these years, he knows his body well.

Sometimes you get that little brother syndrome. A lot of that is bringing them into the fold. You've got to have the same goals in reverse order.

Obviously, we feel it's a great fit for our team. He's a proven player, a leader, and a student of the game.

I think that has a lot to do with a persona that kind of wills the team. His teammates respond to his leadership. I think that's kind of what separates him from a lot of the people in the draft.
