This decision is a great disservice for people who live around large factory farms. It basically gives these farms a free ride on the backs of the public. There's really nothing in this that holds the polluters accountable for the toxic air emissions they release.

This decision allows people to put that lawn sign up, to join a political party, to participate in an election campaign.

The real issue will be how the state will fund the improvements. That decision will be made long after Governor Owens leaves office.

Having that decision out of the way should take some pressure off.

He's really pitched very well. His first outing was dominating. He didn't get a decision, but he pitched about as well as you can pitch. The second outing, he didn't have his best stuff, but he was able to battle through it, and that's a maturity level we didn't see from him early in the season last year.
