This is as big as it gets within the baseball coaching profession. It's a tremendous honor and I feel it really validates my career.

It's a great honor to know that someone in the profession has the opinion that my work deserves an award. It motivates me to keep writing and reach for something even better.

Once I'm done with baseball, I'm done with baseball. That's why it was important to me to stick with this club. They were offering me the role that Ruben Sierra had last year. It's going to be a little bit different for me. I'm at the stage of my career where I can still help the team win.

This would be like a mugger given two years for assault and spending 23 months at the beach because the prison was closed.

Being voted into the Hall of Fame is the biggest individual honor in baseball. Being voted in on the first ballot is what cements your place in history as one of the greatest to ever play the game. There are likely to be many voters that will think twice about placing Bonds in that elite company, especially when you consider he's never been the most popular individual with the media.

He has honor if he holds himself to an ideal of conduct though it is inconvenient, unprofitable, or dangerous to do so.
