This is not a debate about immigrant rights. America being a land of immigrants will never, ever take away the rights of legal immigrants in our country or in our state. Never.

We hope this deal goes through, because the land we'll be working is much closer to home for us than places farther north. We have long days as it is.

America is a land where a citizen will cross the ocean to fight for democracy -- and won't cross the street to vote in a national election.

You're seeing a land grab attempt. As everybody rushes in, there will be incremental revenue gains but it remains to be seen what the gross profits will be.

We must have a full debate and votes on issues such as China's pitiful human rights record, China's brutal suppression of religious freedom, China's increasingly belligerent stance toward the Democratic Chinese government on Taiwan and China's unbroken record of violated agreements one after another on other matters. You can't trust them,

I will take a backseat to no one in a commitment to civil rights in America.
