This is our best meet of the season and our people did some really good things. The athletes did some things that are indicative of our future being very bright. We're on the freeway going fast in the right direction.

The athletes are youngsters whose time is still to come.

We performed better than it looked like we would on paper and I am very proud of the great job our women did. Colorado State performed well and deserved to win this but our girls still had some outstanding performances.

We had some bright spots and it was very good competition overall. We're going in the right direction and I'm looking forward to some good marks in the next couple of weeks.

Title IX has definitely provided more opportunities for female athletes. It is definitely a positive thing for women's sports, both in what it offers women and in its funding. I don't feel that the survey is an accurate way to gauge interest, especially when people who don't respond get counted as people who aren't interested in a particular sport.

That combination is going to surprise some people at the end of the season. They're both natural athletes that are getting better and better.
