This is the first 'Don of Sports' award dinner. I thought it would be nice to acknowledge these people publicly.

A lot of children are active in sports, and I thought it would be fun to let people know what Addison children are doing in sports.

You'll see exercise artifacts from years ago, and then examples of modern equipment like Nautilus machines. It shows the progression of fitness equipment throughout the years.

We attract a different crowd than mainstream sports. We tend to get the people who never exercised, or thought of themselves as athletes, or ever considered taking up any sport. It appeals to the romantic as well as the intellectual side in a lot of us. We get a decent cross mixture of people, a lot of dreamers, gamers and other types.

Everyone thought I was going to die like a year later. They didn't know. So I helped educate sports, and then the world, that a man living with HIV can play basketball. He's not going to give it to anybody by playing basketball.
