This just goes to show you that what you want is a lot of people looking for stuff. You want them to be able to recognize important finds or have the people who can do it.

Science marches slowly, and my biggest fear all along has been that another specimen of the same animal would be found, and it would be described, and I would lose any first claim to it. That never happened, and it kind of reassured the rarity of the animal.

I found parts all the way from cranial elements to the tail. I found individual vertebrae and fused pieces of two or three vertebrae. I knew it was very old by the color – an almost chocolate brown – and it was almost perfectly preserved.

The local people have really stepped up to the plate, ... I don't know how it happens. At one point Monday, we had nothing. It just shows up.

We felt like this is an area that we really need to upgrade. If people have been in and seen them, they know what we're talking about.

Most times, people have some acts that they really like. I mean, I don't have any in particular that I admire. I admire them all, you know.
