This summer we'll offer a fitness and coordination clinic for children - that could be children with a disability, or a child of typical development who needs to improve some of those skills.

But the programs we're going to offer don't have to necessarily target a child with a disability.

Most practices would see children, but they were adult-oriented. They did not specialize or focus on pediatrics, whereas in other larger communities, there are plenty of pediatric therapy providers.

Children who appear disabled at 2 or 3 are not necessarily doomed to a lifetime of disability. These young adults were able to achieve much more than we expected.

I treat all children the same. I don't consider their disability an excuse, but, rather, a point of motivation. ... When you enter my classroom you no longer see children with special needs, but a teacher who meets the needs of special children.

We can measure valid changes in the (children) in terms of getting an assessment of their fitness levels.
