This time of year it's hard to know how you're going to do because we're playing in 40 degrees on greens that are mostly dead. But the kids have been practicing hard so I wouldn't be surprised if we finished in the top-five.

She used to be real hard on herself last year and would get frustrated. I think she's worked through that now — this year I don't see it. I see her more focused. Right now, I think she's our most consistent hitter. She's our leader right now, so that's another reason we need her on the court.

She's playing unbelievable, so I'm going to have to pick it up. Venus has been working hard for quite some time to turn this thing up. She's always in the gym, running miles, always practicing. . . . It was just a matter of timing.

It was a slope of about 60 or 70 degrees, so it was very hard to stand still.

Playing a team three times is hard. It wasn't our sharpest game of the year. We did enough to get over the hump. Give the kids credit, they battled.

It's about the camaraderie. Not all go in every year. If it was 0 degrees, I wouldn't go in. Forty degrees, that's fine.
