This time the mascot design fully combines traditional Chinese culture.

The most agonizing thing of all has been the design of the mascot.

We decided to produce five mascots instead of one, because we think no single figure can embody China's profound and diversified culture.

They design new bikes by choosing a new gear shift, a new saddle and a new color. But the consumer doesn't care about that. The consumer has specific needs, like bringing children to school.

We were looking to standardize our design flow to reduce the amount of time we spent recreating parts that would work with one design tool but not another. We had concerns about losing all of our previous designs and libraries. However, after evaluating several vendors, we discovered that with PADS, we were able to get done what we needed to do quickly and cleanly.

Good design, at least part of the time, includes the criterion of being direct in relation to the problem at hand - not obscure, trendy, or stylish. A new language, visual or verbal, must be couched in a language that is already understood.
