This was a fun race for me. It was a training-type run to see where I'm at.

I was determined. I didn't care if my ankle was injured, I was going to run.

I consider myself a distance runner, so eventually I'd like to step up to the marathon. But I don't have the age for it yet. Probably when I get into my 20s I'll try it.

It is a fun race, just enough to be challenging, not long, but not a sprint. It has great atmosphere, weather, a warm pool instead of a cold lake and excellent volunteers, most of which have been at their points for 19-20 years.

It's fun to put on a race this spectator friendly.

In the solo category, there's going to be a race, and it's going to be fun to watch. The good people will probably be neck and neck.
