This was our first game, and we had not seen live pitching coming in. I thought as the night went on that we grew in our pitch selection for hitting.

I thought we were a step slow all night - that's why I did those wholesale substitutions. We had that tough game last night and our shots were short tonight, which is a direct reflection of being tired. I probably should have subbed a little more earlier in the game.

We had one missed read all night. Other than that, I thought that both of them ran the offense well.

I thought that (Newman) worked hard (on Thursday night) and that is the way that she needs to work and the way the teams needs to work on a day to day basis. What we've got going with (Vincent) is that if you are going to key on her we will burn you inside and you have to play her straight up.

(Free State was) the last team that we lost to and, after that loss, it made us better, and we're hoping for the same type of response out of the girls. I know this group of young ladies, and they will take this as a challenge to channel it in the right direction and get better.

We just couldn't stop the bleeding. We've not had a bad inning, and we had a bad inning. In softball, you just can't allow that to happen.
