This year was more relaxed and more fun. Being a senior and captain was really fun. Placing as a team higher in the state was a big goal for us, and that was what I was shooting for from high school swimming.

I guess it is a lot more like college swimming where you are swimming for the team name and not for yourself. You are swimming for the team, and the people around you. Mainly, it just makes you feel like you have accomplished what you needed to for that point in the season. You just want to be able to swim well.

We're all dressed up and doing this for fun, but (our ancestors) really went through this.

It's something different for them. They don't get to reminisce like everybody else, but it's still fun.

It's fun to be able to attack more and be part of the scoring. Next year at Stanford, I'll probably be playing (defense).

I beg. I call. I badger. I cajole. Part of the secret is everyone has fun and that's really motivating.
