This year's theme is bread and roses [inspired by the 'Bread and Roses' strike by American women textile workers in 1912]. The bread stands for the need for affordable food, and the roses represent the need to be dignified and the call for social justice.

WOZA was started to give Zimbabwean women a voice and platform with which to exercise their rights. At this time in Zimbabwe, where things are very tough economically, socially, politically… we felt that women were bearing the brunt of that crisis and should have the loudest voice in shouting out … and holding the political leaders accountable for what they've unleashed.

Women workers are needed for campaigning. But when it comes to distributing tickets to them they are sidelined and lame theories like they are too old to contest, or she would not win are brought fourth.

Just people cannot follow unjust laws.

We were marching to say we want more than day to day survival.

We're expecting 120 people to be brought to court this afternoon.
