Three 2-9 seasons wear on you. It got old real fast. I couldn't really stop it back then, but now that we're having some success, it's a job and I want it to be that way.

I was garbage, ... I lived to work out that whole offseason (between the 2003 and 2004 seasons). I worked harder than I've ever worked in my life. They say hard work pays off. I guess I'm proof.

There's a couple of resonances,

I really think it has to do with strength and conditioning. That's probably the most preventative measure you can take. But it's really just the odds. Sometimes you land right and sometimes you don't. It's part of football.

There are a lot of faithful Vanderbilt fans who haven't had an opportunity like this. Now we're coming out and doing really well.

(The losing) got old really fast. Now that we're having success, we don't want to go back to the way it was. We're doing everything we can to continue being successful.
