Tim was never only into one thing or setting out to do one specific genre. There is not really a specific kind of music and one specific kind of view that somebody has to have to come into the group.

It's true, if you go to someone's MP3 player or iPod you're not going to find just one genre,

We're of a size and can do enough different things that we're not putting all our bets on one specific area,

What precedent are we setting in doing this for one industry and not for others?

It's a simple narrative on the surface, ... The setting, certainly. And there are certain things that remind one of genre imagery that you've seen before, whether it's action movies or crime movies or Westerns. There are a lot of elements that look familiar. But it's kind of like the family itself. Everything that looks normal, in the end, isn't really. And like a lot of David's movies, at the end you say, 'Well, is anyone really normal?'

At the end of the day, Tim said, 'Look, can you just do this vocal?' I did not write it for myself, but did in the end, do it because Tim wanted me to, ... It was a fun part.
