Time is not in our favor. I'm looking at the kids who are really going to suffer.

We weren't making much money then, but we had a better time than these kids do now. We still miss California very much.

Kids used to get their sticks caught in there all the time. Now they feel safe and can play with more confidence. You can send the puck up along the boards and it doesn't jet back out like it did before.

Our kids understand they have to be the two-time defending champions. But we have a huge challenge against Woodland (tonight).

For a lot of these guys, that light doesn't go on until they leave college. For some kids' cases, it's too late. For other kids' cases, it happens in the nick of time. As a coach, you have to able to adapt, trust these guys even though sometimes they don't trust you. I know it sounds crazy having said that, but I love my job.

You can talk theory and situation all you want. But what these kids need is to get more game-speed experience.
