Time spent folding T-shirts was time we didn't spend on learning how to use weapons or combat defense of a base.

In Air Force basic training we did not talk about the role of a warrior, we did not talk about weapons.

It was good that we added it. It just wasn't in the right place.

These young people that are serving our country are truly tremendous. Right now about 75 percent of the folks coming in the Air Force have guaranteed jobs.

They are athletic and they like to run the option, but they have a lot of other weapons. On defense, they do a lot of stunting. They are fast and they are quick.

They haven't had the time here to learn the situations. Just watching film, learning your surroundings, learning the defense, knowing the down and distance. Just little things that you may not think are a big deal but turn out to be a big deal.
