Too many of us now tend to worship self indulgence and consumption.

The self-indulgent man craves for all pleasant things... and is led by his appetite to choose these at the cost of everything else.

Wherever life takes us, there are always moments of wonder.

The unhappy person resents it when you try to cheer him up, because that means he has to stop dwelling on himself and start paying attention to the universe. Unhappiness is the ultimate form of self-indulgence. When you're unhappy, you get to pay a lot of attention to yourself. You get to take yourself oh so very seriously.

When work is viewed only as a source of economic gain the centrality of work becomes self-indulgence, selfishness and egocentrism.

Anything that feels good couldn't possibly be bad.
