Under current law, the only way an airline can avoid burdensome pension costs is by entering bankruptcy and terminating the plans.

If they straight up asked Congress to amend the law, it would fail.

Why anybody would want them to be able to shed plans and lower their costs is beyond me.

I think we're all going to be stunned by what's going to be approved over our objections. That's my prediction. It's an outstanding, egregious amount of money that is going to be approved by the court, probably on Wednesday.

They now want to expand this to night and they wanted to do this with wet runways, with no acceptable criteria. We just couldn't go that far.

My concern is that they're (airlines) going to try and chip away at the minimums we have right now for the good of the consumer and productivity enhancements.
