Volunteering for the club is an easy and enjoyable way for me to give back to the organization and to help the current roster of athletes pursue their dreams.

Ski Club Vail did a great deal to help in the athletic and character development of my three children but most specifically my daughter, Tiffany. She left the Club to join the U.S. Ski Team at a very young age and that might not have happened had it not been for the dedication of the coaches and the mentoring of Chip Woods, the director at the time.

It is a tremendous honor to be considered in the same league as the likes of Byron and Vi who have given so much to this organization and to the Vail community for so many years.

You know, if you really want to fiddle the old-time way, you've got to learn the dance. The contra-dances, hoedowns. It's all in the rhythm of the bow. The great North Carolina fiddle player Tommy Jarrell said, 'If a feller can't bow, he'll never make a fiddler. He might make a violin player, but he'll never make no fiddler.'

You've got to go with what feels instinctive and true to your heart, and filter out all of the other stuff.

I'd like a telescope, but I probably wouldn't look at the stars that often. I'd definitely be looking into people's flats most of the time.
