He has a great background and he knows what to do. He's new, refreshing and definitely isn't Tony Blair.

Some countries like the U.S. find it difficult to go through the UN process and make binding commitments. Blair is trying to make a neutral space where they can share ideas. That's fine as long as it doesn't replace Kyoto.

Whereas last year there was a clear popular preference for Mr Brown over Mr Blair as Prime Minister, that has now all but vanished.
