[W]e admire the work of the Eanes Education Foundation and the significant value they bring to our community. The results are obvious; Eanes students routinely go on to serve as leaders both locally and nationally.

I saw a need . . . of the Hispanic community moving together to work on education, employment and in the political area.

I'm cautiously optimistic that the governors will get together and work to resolve this issue. Both governors have the same end in mind. It's a question of the means.

Each dollar a visitor spends doubles in value as it spreads through the community. The attractions and hotels in the city spent more than $62 million in expansion, renovation and improvements in 2004 alone and that translates to a large number of jobs in the construction industry and related trades.

The community expects you to take a strong stand. Just ask the court what's the fair value.

Hopefully we can communicate once and for all the value of vocational education to federal officials. We made the trip to Washington, D.C., last year and we will do it again to demonstrate how effectively this money is being used.
