We all feel disappointed that Americas' Food Basket didn't work out.

At worst Fields Corner deserves a better quality store than midland has proven itself willing to deliver. At best we deserve the opportunity to really work towards changing the way that property is used so it's more reflective of the neighborhood's needs.

But we need to get something back in there that can serve not only the residents but also attract people around the city.

We think that Fields Corner deserves more than the low-quality grocery store that Midland has a reputation for and proved itself to be.

Future historians, I hope, will consider the American fast food industry a relic of the twentieth century--a set of attitudes, systems, and beliefs that emerged from postwar southern California, that embodied its limitless faith in technology, that quickly spread across the globe, flourished briefly, and then receded, once its true costs became clear and its thinking became obsolete.

Most fast food is fried. Fried food tastes great, and people don't seem to care about the fat aspect.
