We all know that I would have preferred an election by now. We didn't have one,

I am confident about the next election. We have our candidates in place, we have our financing in place and we have our policies ready to go if need be,

I like the position we're in. I think we're ready for an election. I think we've got the members, the money and candidates and the support we need to have an election at any time.

I always say, it doesn't matter how busy I am and how early in the morning it is. The one thing I can always manage to get energy for is to see my kid (Ben) play hockey. I love my job as prime minister, but if you could be a hockey player, I mean, what could be better than that?

It will be one of the major issues in this election.

Obviously there's an election coming up. We would like it to be free and fair. And a prerequisite of free and fair elections is that you don't beat up opposition candidates or opposition supporters and throw them in jail.
