We are asking people to call and register first so we can see what the group is going to be like. If it meets with success, I'd love to see it continue.

We know people will feel uncomfortable on sharing.

Part of the issue is that people feel pets are family members. It's a valid emotion, and it's a valid grief.

I'm expecting it to work like other support groups that we have. Our regular support groups are held once a week, and I'd at least like to reach that goal.

I remember when I used to sit on hospital beds and hold people’s hands, people used to be shocked because they’d never seen this before. To me it was quite normal.

I felt compelled to perform - to do my engagements and not let people down. And they supported me, although they weren’t aware how much it carried me through.
