We are confident we will have all of the resources necessary to effectively communicate the governor's message.

The governor's numbers are moving in the right direction. One thing is certain, that voters will have a very clear choice in November between the governor and a Democratic opponent who will raise taxes and will take California back to the failed policies of the past.

Put simply, the governor does not support tax increases and is opposed to Proposition 82 because it will raise taxes.

It is clear from this instance this is a calculated campaign strategy.

To fund the program adequately, $2 billion is needed, so a targeted program for vulnerable populations will continue, even while emergency needs continue to require about $1.5 billion each year.

If any good comes from the catastrophe, it will be that it signaled the beginning of the media's reassertion of aggressive, in-your-face reporting, in which it confronts government wrongdoing, rather than just swallowing the government's public-relations handouts.
