We are leaving with our heads held high. The decision to leave Gaza was made out of strength, and with it comes a hope for a better future.

First of all, from where I sit, I am leaving on a high note, ... and a higher note than I deserve and certainly a higher note than I ever thought possible when I walked into this job. Secondly, what's gone on these past few months, it all goes with the territory, as the cliche goes. It's part of the turf, particularly if you're determined to at least try to be an independent reporter. And I understand that very well.

We certainly didn't walk round campus with our heads held high. We were embarrassed. When we came back to campus our fans laughed and made fun of us. But the only way we were going to erase that memory was to go out and have some positive wins.

We will not allow you to escape your responsibilities. We will not tolerate terrorism and the primary objective will be to guard the border.

Reckless declarations could be given erroneous interpretation and be taken out of context, which could drag the army into an unnecessary public debate over the army's and the state of Israel's policies.
