We are running a rather large business and we need to look like we?re running it properly. The slower we go, the more things back up.

We don?t want to get just anyone in there, but if we have qualified people we should move as swiftly as possible. We can?t really take it any further until they do something.

So far, (the Attorney General?s office) has not received a request. They should feel a sense of urgency ... I don?t know why it?s taken so long.

We know it's hard to be a master of everything. In running a business, there are a lot of things outside of an entrepreneur's area of passion or expertise.

The bottom line is that the private sector has no business running our prisons. This is one of the most basic government responsibilities. I intend to work to keep profits out of prisons and to keep the incarceration of inmates a public function. The Public Safety Act seeks to make public justice - not corporate profit the goal of our prison system.

You have to do a lot of running just to stay in place in this business.
