We believe the combination of fanatical ideology together with nuclear weaponry is a combination that no thinking person can feel comfortable with.

Arresting a few activists in a particular atrocity is simply not enough. This group has to be thoroughly disarmed. If not, they will continue to wreak havoc, murdering innocent civilians and killing the chance for peace.

Now that the international community is energized to deal with the issue, we believe the chance for diplomacy succeeding has improved.

It is clear that as long as Islamic Jihad remains armed, it will have the ability both to kill innocent civilians and to kill chances for peace. What is needed is a continuous ongoing effort by the Palestinian leadership to disarm these extremist groups.

I am a democrat only on principle, not by instinct - nobody is that. Doubtless some people say they are, but this world is grievously given to lying.

The whole summer I was in a closing role but thinking I was going to come back as a starter. When I got here they said they weren't sure what I would do. Closing is fine with me. I have the mentality of a closer, but I would also love to get the chance to start.
