We call it swing jazz, ... Think Nat King Cole, Benny Goodman-style stuff. I grew up with those people around me. So it's natural that that is what I like doing.

And everyone came through our house. I grew up with people like Benny Goodman, Zoot Sims, in the house, playing right in front of me.

Personally, I think young musicians need to learn to play more than one style. Jazz can only enhance the classical side, and classical can only enhance the jazz. I started out playing classical, because you have to have that as a foundation.

I think that he is one of the most unique voices in all of jazz. Nobody sounds like him.

All a musician can do is to get closer to the sources of nature, and so feel that he is in communion with the natural laws.
