We determined that people of a younger age, who are married and who have smaller tumors were associated with a higher likelihood of receipt of a transplant.

This is the first large, population-based study evaluating liver transplantation in the United States. Marked ethnic differences in receipt of transplants should be examined further, and reasons for these disparities clarified.
