We didn't accomplish much today. The first day of an investigation often doesn't produce much because people are still arriving from all over the country.

What happened today was the act of cowards. Often people who do these things scurry back into the gutters they came from. I can say with confidence that we will spare no effort to track down and punish those responsible. It's important for the world to know that our nation will not bow to terrorists and faceless acts of cowardice.

Coach Fowler operates as he sees necessary. When he has something to tell us, he'll share something with us. It hasn't reached that point yet. Until then, he'll move forward -- away from the public eye -- with a very small circle of advisors, and that's a good thing. No news can mean good news.

With the clear and incontrovertible evidence the state put before the jury, there wasn't much else they could have done.

Today is a sad day for Maryland. Fifteen people decided to make a decision for 5 million people by not allowing the vote on the floor and the vote in November.

Kids today need to know that people think they're special. Each day and each thing that they do is so precious.
