We didn't have a full squad. We were missing a lot of varsity kids with some health problems. We were just getting our feet wet today.

Our main objective was to get some experience. We had a lot of younger kids run today in the JV race. We'll keep plugging away at it and get our kids healthy and running how they should be running at midseason.

I'll spend another year or two at this job—as long as my health is good. I love the kids. I love the job. I'll miss it once I leave. You see them come in as little kids as freshmen. The change in them—you have to see it to really know it.

I'm very pleased with how we competed. We competed hard and had a great team effort. Earlier in the year these teams were quite a bit better than us. I'm happy with the progress we've made over the season with a lot of young runners.

We're still after experience and that's the main thing. This is a team with a lot of first year runners and they're making the progress we expect to see out of them.

I'm pleased with the team effort we had today. There were a lot of positives.
