We do not want terrorists or drug dealers crossing the frontier, either. We have to look for a way to help those people who have been living here for many years.

I think there's a lot of stuff going out there that isn't really real. I think what happened is people are geared up to be afraid because so much [attention] has been put on the issue.

Who's going to decide that they know enough to get their kids back? There's no way that you can translate the love that a parent has for their child.

We've known for a while that there's a real battle [with gangs and drug dealers] going on in this area. It's sad that it came to this -- the murder of a little girl -- to bring the attention that this segment of Englewood needs.

It's the last frontier. That's absolutely essential to what we do as Americans. We have a tradition of crossing boundaries, challenging frontiers that no other nation has. In the wilderness there are no impossibilities. In that arena you find a really unique, very fierce American perspective.

The drug dealers with the grow-ops in the area come to steal my soil. They want to destroy my trees and take my soil. They even sneak around the bushes. The city told me to keep doing what I'm doing.
