We don't expect him to fall off because he's not a guy that relies on throwing really hard. We signed him to win games, but his leadership for our young players is a bonus and his presence should take some pressure off of them.

I think injuries played some part in our club not performing as well [during the season]. We never had our club together very long. Unfortunately, the little bit of time we did have them, we didn't play very well during that time period.

You will not find a more dedicated, hardworking and respected individual that cares more about the Tigers and his coaching staff. However, for the Tigers to reach the next level, I feel it is appropriate to make a change at this time.

He (Colon) is not throwing the ball hard now.

The guy still knows how to pitch. He's not throwing 96 (mph) like used to, but he's sinking it, he's cutting it, he's changing speeds on us.

It's unfortunate to see one guy take the fall for 25. It really is. There seems to have been not as many questions about us and the way we've played than there were about him. If we can take a positive from it, that's going to change. This is the wake-up call maybe we need.
