We expect lots of developers to continue to build things on the Palm OS and we will allow these applications to run on ALP. The message to developers is to continue doing what you're doing, and the investment won't be lost.

ALP has a lot of architectural difference from the traditional Palm OS. However, one of the things we have kept to make sure ecosystems aren't stranded is an emulation layer, so Palm OS Garnet applications that are well behaved will run on emulation on ALP.

It's mostly new and is definitely the next evolution or iteration of Palm OS on Linux.
