We felt it was the best thing for the kids of our valley. It was a tough task.

This is a win-win situation for our kids. They'll experience playing in a great facility and get to see a beautiful city like Seattle. We'll also get to play a solid program and gauge where we're at as a team. Win or lose, it'll be a great trip.

It's overwhelming to see kids excited. It's a dream come true.

As a coach, I can really appreciate having a group of kids like this. There are a lot of kids out there who are obsessed by distance, and all they want to do is pound their drivers. Our kids aren't like that. They understand the game. They get it. They realize that the goal is to get the ball in the hole, and the best way to do that is to practice your iron shots, your wedges, your chipping and your putting. If you develop those skills to a high degree, you're going to beat the bombers most of the time.

That's a huge cut. That's a lot of positions. It's going to affect a lot of kids.
