We had a very, very difficult seven years. The end result we would have been happy with. It went very well. I was relieved after the first four or five days.

They were games of heart, of warmth, of smiles and generosity. It was Italy at its best.

The IOC will continue to worry until after the closing ceremony, just as we do at every Olympic Games.

Now it will take a couple of weeks to decide if it is worth it to bid again.

If you take the quality of the sites, the quality of the sports, you couldn't do really any better than that. For the atmosphere, there was magic here and there, but not everywhere.
