We had lapses in the game. But teams go through things like that. And we were able to dig through and hold them to not too many points (36) in the second half.

We had a couple defensive lapses in that inning, but we were able to keep our heads in the game and answer right back.

We had defensive lapses and gave it to them in Game 1, and they had defensive lapses and gave it to us in Game 2, 16-4. But we both just had an excellent game (Sunday). They (Auburn) shouldn't feel bad, they're a great team. We just happened to be ahead after nine innings.

Each game was a grueling game. Whatever you hit to them they seemed to be able to dig. They were pretty good, the kids were excited to beat Newton.

We had some defensive lapses early in the game and then we found a way to get back into the game. Then we fell apart at the end. We played hard, but I'm not big on taking positives from losses like this.

Other than a couple of concentration lapses at the end of each quarter, it was a really nice game for us defensively. This was a good win for us.
