We have lost a fellow officer, ... It's not something that will go away because some arrests have been made. It's like losing a family member. Once you lose them, the only thing that can cure it is time. Time and prayer.

Anytime you have more than a dozen arrests, it is a significant operation, and the investigation is continuing.

Our end game is to take out the leadership elements especially. These arrests are a means to that end.

If it is not handled properly, it can be contaminated. Let's say a police officer sweats on a piece of an evidence; (it is) contaminated. You have to use rubber gloves, you cannot keep it in high temperatures, it has to be cool and dry.

We're not looking at it that way. We looked at it that way last year and we lost.

We are not stopping arrests. We are stopping these particular operations. We will still be in the licensed establishments enforcing the laws, including public intoxication and sale to intoxicated persons. Routine inspections will continue, as will responses to complaints.
