We have to deal with the upfront costs, though.

This has been a tough project. When you add onto this many sides of a building, and deal with this many existing conditions, it's complicated. I know it's one of the toughest projects I've had to do. And there are still some concerns about dollars.

They are needing to bring in new line from the east, where there is a hydrant with enough pressure that we can tie into it.

We have contingency factors built in for increased costs due to the market, and we can just move money from the contingency fund into the budget if we need to. I think we have all the big surprises taken care of, but we want to leave a pot of money for anything unforeseen. And there are things we can add back on if we have money left. With a job this big, though, I can assure you there will be changes.

My son is trying to be a sports writer, and my daughter is a college student. She wants to be a comedy writer, and she's at film school. I discouraged both of them early on from getting involved in Starbucks. I didn't think it would be fair; plus, they didn't have any interest anyway.
