We haven't shot the ball very well. But our kids have hung in there.

I've been telling the kids all along we were the best 4-5 team in the state. We're as good as anybody in Class D. We went in No. 1 last year and have a lot of veterans back, but we just weren't closing out games until tonight.

Bob's always taking about his kids and grandkids, and none of them are here locally. You could tell, he'd really rather be with them. He's been good for P-H-M, but he can't be in two places.

These guys are a great bunch of kids who were fun to coach. I have been so lucky since I have been here to coach great kids. And our seniors have had a great run. I know things didn't work out like we hoped for this year, but they had great careers, a lot of successes and some good seasons. They can hold their heads high because they gave it everything they had.

Our kids had two great days of practice. We responded well and were very determined. We had timely hits with runners on base.

If your kids want to paint their bedrooms, as a favor to me, let 'em do it.
